Application and entrance exam deadlines 2025-26

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The Conservatory does not provide a quota of places reserved for “Turandot” students, who will participate in the selection process as international students, without reservation of places in case of eligibility for enrollment.

*Procedure for registration for the entrance exam

1) First you need to REGISTER in advance on the Cineca-Esse3 platform, following the instructions.

NOTE: students enrolled at the Conservatory of Florence, being already registered on the Cineca-Esse3 platform, will access the “Entrance Exams” section from the MENU > SECRETARIAT of their reserved area.

Students who have obtained qualifications or who have closed careers at the Cherubini Conservatory before the 2022-23 academic year must contact the relevant secretariat (see below) to receive access credentials.

At the end of the registration procedure, the access credentials (username and password) will be displayed on the screen to be saved and used in the subsequent steps useful for registering for the Entrance exam. The system, after a few minutes, will automatically send an email confirming the registration.

2) Online form filling procedure (online application): access the Cineca-Esse3 digital platform again by following the link:
https://consfi.esse3.cineca.it/Home.do
click on MENU > LOGIN > Secretariat > Entrance Exams at the top right.

IMPORTANT: Carefully follow the instructions provided on the screen until the procedure is completed. You can interrupt and resume the procedure at any time by logging in again.

Please note that the procedure will be definitively completed only after payment of the admission fee of €80.00.

Candidates for admission who, when completing the online form, declared that they were in possession of a DSA certification and that they needed compensatory measures to take the exams, must necessarily send an email to Prof. Alessandra Petrangelo, Institute Representative for DSA/Disability: dsa@consfi.it

**First test

The first test will take place exclusively in person.
IMPORTANT: The Conservatory does not provide an accompanying pianist.

*** Second test

The Second Test is an integral partof the Entrance Exam to the Three-Year Course.
Only candidates of the three-year period who passed the first test and are regularly enrolled will be admitted to the second test. The second test will be held exclusively in person.

The second test consists of a skills test on one or more of the following basic disciplines:

1) Theory, Rhythm and Musical Perception;
2) Theories and Techniques of Harmony;
3) History of Music;
4) Piano Practice.

– Exemptions from the Second Test:

When completing the registration form for the Entrance Exam, certifications may be produced which, if possessed, will give the right to exemption from one or more tests.

Candidates who fail one or more tests will be assigned the relevant OFA (Additional Training Obligations).

Candidates absent from the second test who have provided suitable justification (illness or absolute impossibility to be present on the established dates, sending the documentation to the relevant Secretariats) will take the second test on another date.

Candidates who are absent without justification will be assigned OFAs ex officio.

PLEASE NOTE: Students enrolled in Pre-Academic Courses or Preparatory Courses at the Cherubini Conservatory who, at the time of filling out the application for admission, have not yet taken the exam in one or more basic subjects subject to verification in the Second test but who plan to take it in the summer or autumn session, can self-certify this condition in the online form. This will be considered an exemption unless verification is carried out, which will be carried out no later than September.

Young Talents

The “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory of Music in Florence establishes the training program aimed at “Young Talents” aimed at enhancing and promoting the academic training of young students (who have reached or will reach at least 15 years of age on 12/31/2025) enrolled in a secondary school who, not having yet obtained the secondary school diploma necessary for access to academic courses, are equipped with particular and marked aptitudes, adequate musical qualities and acquired and verified technical preparation equal to or superior to the minimum requirements required for access to first level academic courses.

In case of admission, it is specified that newly enrolled students will be included in the first year of part-time attendance of the Three-Year Course, as provided for in the “Regulations of the Courses for Young Talents”, which can be viewed here:https://www.consfi.it/statuto-e-regolamenti/which we recommend you read carefully.

Therefore, candidates who believe they possess the above-mentioned characteristics must fill out the online formrequesting to take the three-year admission exam, subsequently indicating the student typology as “Young Talents”.
