BÁRBARA MINGOT CORTÉS

Born in Alicante (Spain) in 1976, she began her musical studies at the Superior Conservatory of Alicante with the violinist Vicente Antón Martinez, and finished them at the Superior Conservatory of Barcelona with the concertist Agustin León Ara.

She has played in different chamber groups, performing in many spanish cities such as Bilbao, Sevilla, Madrid, Toledo, Albacete, Barcelona or Alicante. Due to her interest in the dissemination of spanish music she has also collaborated with the Cervantes Institute, performing in different countries the music of Granados, Falla, Turina or Sarasate, among many others.

She has been concertmaster of the Symphonic Orchestra of Alicante and of the Symphonic Orchestra of Albacete, and has collaborated with many other orchestras such as Orchestra of Elx, Orchestra “Orfeo” of Ciudad Real, or Chamber Orchestra of the Valencian Community.

She also studied baroque violin and historical performance with the violinist Ángel Sanpedro, and has collaborated in different groups of ancient music: Baroque Orchestra of the Ancient Academy of Music of Salamanca, L’Harmonia del Parnàs, El Arte Músico and Ensemble Salanova, with performances all over Spain, including the National Auditory of Music (Madrid).

Pedagogy is her main passion, she has a degree in Education Sciences from the University of Alicante, has made a master’s degree in Pedagogy, and many courses of violin didactics. She has been honorific teacher of the University of Alicante and currently is working in her doctoral theses.

Since 2016 she is professor at the Superior Conservatory of Valencia, where she puts all her passion in getting the best out of each student. She actively participates in the Erasmus program and has carried out teaching mobilities in Livorno, Oulu and Messina. Since 2022 she is the quality coordinator of the “Joaquin Rodrigo” Superior Conservatory of Valencia.
